This house was owned by lawyer James O’Halloran, Cowansville’s
first mayor. Deputy of the Brome-Missisquoi county in 1861,
he was re-elected by acclamation in 1863. M. O’Halloran
was a much appreciated speaker who was averse to Confederation.
This house had the chance to welcome Mr. M.B. Fisher, member
of Parliament during one of Mr. Duplessis’s terms of office.
