John Pharaoh, a butcher and owner of an abattoir, probably built
this house for his daughter. At the time, he was living in the
adjoining house, 245 Main Street, where we find today the newspaper,
Le Guide. Around 1901, the dentist Carl C. Cotton bought the 245
Main Street where he stayed with his sister and also bought the
235 Main Street, which he rented. Later, Henri Lucien Boucher,
postmaster from September 1st, 1938 to February 26th, 1964, lived
at the 235. Mr. Boucher had participated in the 1914-1918 war.
