This house is known as the "Hitchcock House", the name
of its owner in the 1950's and 1960's. It was built by George
L. Wood, a tinsmith and also the co-owner of the Wood & Beaudoin
Hardware store in 1888 and 1889. In 1892, the advocate and local
historian, John P. Noyes became the owner of this beautiful house
and he will live there until his death in 1923. Doctor Alfred
Cookman Paintin also resided there in the 1920's and 1930's. On
the right side of the house,the brick garage used to be the stable.
