Year of construction:
Around 1881
Type of architecture:
Second Empire style
Historical elements:
This house, now known as the Nesbitt Residence, is officially an
historic building since December 1991. In 1881, it was the center
of a competition between three very important persons of the area.
As a matter of fact, G.B. Baker, senator, H.D. Pickel, High Constable
of the district and G.K. Nesbitt, a mill owner, all wanted to
own the most attractive and richly built house. The only house
that has not been demolished since then is the Nesbitt house.
The original name of the house was Lismore House.
