Historical elements:
The court house was built in the same style and at the same
time as most of the other court houses in Quebec except for
the fact that it was made of bricks. Why bricks? Because the
area had a brick shop so the revetment was a lot cheaper. However,
the construction still cost $25 000.Opened in 1861,the first
judge to preside at the Sweetsburg Court was John Samuel McCord
and at that time, eight lawyers, nine bailiffs and three notaries
were working there.
