Historical elements:
This Church of England, built thanks to Reverend J.C. Davidson,
was named Christ Church. It was first served by its founder
J.C. Davidson and then by Reverend H.W. Fyles from 1872 to 1880.
In 1887, Reverend George Forcey was in charge because Reverend
H.W. Fyles was then chaplain in Grosse Île. The first
church building was built in 1855 by Freeman L. Eldridge and
consecrated in 1857. Destroyed by fire, it was rebuilt in 1893,on
the same site near the Sweetsburg Court House.
