Built around 1870, this hotel was first known as the Cowansville Hotel. In 1885, it became the Ottawa Hotel. This hotel was destroyed by a fire in 1927 and rebuilt on the same site. It became then the New Ottawa Hotel. In the 1950's, it changed its name to the Hotel Maurice and today, it is a seniors residence, Manoir Cowan.
