The Vilas Company was in operation in Cowansville from 1893 until the end of the 1970's. This text relates the story of theVilas family and the important events of the company. The Vilas Company was at the beginning a manufacturer of agricultural implements, followed by school desks, and finally a well-known manufacturer of household furniture made in solid maple wood.
